Virginia SNAP Application Eligibility
To qualify for this benefit program, you must reside in the state of Virginia and fall into one of two groups:
(1) Residents with current bank balance (savings and checks combined) less than $ 2,001.
(2) Residents with current bank balance (savings and checks combined) less than $ 3,001 who share their household with someone 60 years of age or older or with a person with a disability (a child, your spouse, parent, or yourself) ).
You are required to provide the following documents before applying for benefits.
- Full application from the Department of Social Services for benefits
- Verification of citizenship or the status of an eligible immigrant
- Proof of identity
- Verification of residence
- Proof of verification of total household income
- Review of household assets
- Social security number or proof of application for all household members.
Virginia SNAP application process
Once you have the above documents and you know you are eligible, you can apply online. In addition, only one household member needs to apply for the entire household. In addition, everyone living in the household must be included in the application along with their income.
