Women who work and also have one or more children often live with the feeling that they will never have enough time. Truly frustrating!
Most work-from-home moms learn to multitask: answer phone calls while writing or translating paragraphs of an article due shortly, send a fax while starting to cook dinner, and so on. This is probably not the best solution, although it works reasonably well for many women. Anyway, time tends to give us more when we focus on just one thing.
Therefore, it is essential to know how to organize, be realistic, that is, not want to do more than is humanly possible and, furthermore, be very clear about our priorities. It sounds simple, but how do we do it?
Well, whatever your organizational system, I suggest you analyze these four basic principles to take advantage of the time if you are a working mom. They will be very useful to you and here I share them with you.
- Learn to systematically classify and organize your various tasks and responsibilities; in this way you will not waste time thinking about how you are going to do everything you have to do.
- Separate the important things from the trivial and focus only on the former.
- Take care of tasks that only you can carry out and delegate all those that you can delegate.
- Make a daily list with everything you have to do. Add to your agenda what you had left to do from the previous day’s list.
And enjoy, enjoy all you can! Grant yourself permissions, awards, smile because if you don’t enjoy what you do and being who you are, you can hardly communicate positive feelings and values to your family.
