EBT Card Balance Verification Options in Pennsylvania

In the state of Pennsylvania, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as grocery stamps, offers monthly cash benefits to help low-income individuals and families purchase nutritious foods. It is the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) that is responsible for administering SNAP benefits for eligible households.

Cash benefits are paid into the beneficiary’s EBT card account every month. This is helping to increase the purchasing power of food in low-income Pennsylvania households in grocery stores and supermarkets. You can visit the grocery stores in Pennsylvania that accept EBT cards.

The Pennsylvania EBT card is also known as the ACCESS card. It can only be used in approved grocery stores to purchase eligible groceries from the POS terminals. Read the full list of approved foods approved by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
