Central Florida residents whose property was damaged by Hurricane Irma can now apply for FEMA’s disaster relief program.
Additionally, there are two ways you can apply for the program. You can apply either by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or online at www.disasterassistance.gov.
How to apply for FEMA Disaster Assistance through www.disasterassistance.gov
Before you proceed to request assistance, you will need the following to apply for assistance:
- Social security number
- Phone number
- Mailing address
- Private insurance information
- Bank account information for direct deposit
- Paperwork related to damaged property (photos, receipts, etc.)
Once you finish the above requirements with yYou can go on www.disasterassistance.gov and click Disaster Resources.
Make sure you fill out all forms correctly so as not to slow down the process time.

NOTE: Once you have requested assistance, FEMA only has 10 days to respond. Once approved, you can get assistance within 2 to 3 days.
