How to Apply for Food Stamp NJ SNAP Benefits

There are two ways you can apply for Snap Benefits NJ. You either apply online or visit the County Welfare Agency office to apply in person. To apply online, please visit the NJOneApp online application portal.

When you apply online, you spend less time in the office for your interview. You can also fax or mail your application to your local County Welfare Office. Once your application is received, you will be contacted immediately to set the right time for an interview and to confirm your application information that you provided during the application process.

Note: Households in which all members are applicants or recipients of Supplemental Security Income (SSI) can apply for NJ SNAP from the District Social Security Office at the same time as applying for SSI.

Your NJ SNAP benefits cannot be used to purchase:

  • Alcohol, tobacco, cigarettes.
