What is the biggest problem you have when you work in the blogging world?
I have interviewed over 15 bloggers over the last few weeks (for a project I’m working on) and found that productivity is one of the most important factors that every blogger struggles with on a daily basis.
The Internet has allowed many bloggers (including me) to have endless opportunities, but it has also brought us a lot of problems, despite many saying otherwise.
I know a lot of people who have done very well working as normal people outside the internet, in the business world, and with a lot of desire to continue growing.
But before they know it, they get distracted by irrelevant nonsense, quickly losing focus.
The truth is that if you really want to be successful in this industry you must be very productive all the time, if you succeed, worrying about the generation of traffic, creating a very active community or even making money, they will be just hazards of the trade.
Most likely, many of you have great ideas that could even change the world, using your blog, however, there is always something that prevents you from acting. Awake! And take action.
If you think there is some kind of magic formula to be successful, I’m sorry to disappoint you – something like that doesn’t really exist. The only thing you can do is be productive, write quality content, and create your own blog.
A Quick Exercise
Before I show you how to be more productive in the blogging world, I want you to do something quickly.
Don’t worry, it’s nothing to write home about, it’s just a change of mind in the way you do things.
Every time you get up in the morning, what exactly is the first thing you do? Without needing to think too much, you will find that you do the exact same thing every morning.
If you set a goal or objective, planning is essential to achieve this objective. Otherwise you will quickly lose focus and get nowhere.
I have a friend who has been working in the blogging world for several years, an expert in web positioning. During 2012 she created 4 new blogs, and managed to position them very well in Google in less than 6 months.
I don’t use any kind of BackHat technique or anything like that. If that’s what you are thinking.
However recently, he has neglected these blogs quite a bit, and as a result his income has dropped considerably. Does this story sound familiar to you? Most likely, yes.
Do you see the importance of productivity within this industry? Productivity in the world of blogging is essential to be successful, if you are not productive, you do not publish content frequently, you do not participate with your audience by answering their questions and comments, they will quickly get bored and most likely they will go elsewhere. .
So how can we be more productive? Let me know how I do it within my blog network.
Write Early In The Morning
I must confess that I started doing this recently and it works quite well.
The most important job we have as bloggers is writing. I don’t mean to say it’s the only thing we have to do, but content writing is # 1. Marketing is # 2. Especially when we work alone, without a team. But how the hell are we going to do this if we don’t like to write?
More importantly, consistently writing quality content will help us increase our organic traffic considerably.
When I wake up in the morning, after seeing a beautiful sunrise, I turn on my computer and start writing. I’m really enjoying it. You should try it.
But let me tell you something. Every night before going to sleep I plan what I am going to write in the morning. In this way I have a much clearer idea of what I am going to do.
Many people make excuses. And I understand them, I’ve been through that too.
However, when I say forget about those excuses that kept me from being more productive, it can really do something. And today, I handle a large number of projects both of my own and of my clients.
Knowing how to consume content is also important. In my particular case, consuming content using my computer distracts me too much, however when I use my iPad or my Kindle, it is much easier and more entertaining.
Your blog will be successful only if it is capable of growing over time, and to grow it is important to write content.
Focus on what is really important
Focus on your business. Every day I see a lot of bloggers wasting time on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and other social networks.
Except that you are Mark Zuckerberg, I don’t see a good enough reason to update your Facebook status every morning.
Yes I agree. Social networks are very important to reach our target audience, however, your most important priority during the first hours of the day is to write content.
According to some studies carried out lately, the best hours to share content on social networks are at noon, and between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Now what about our email? Do we read it before writing content in the morning? Personally, I think it is not a good idea. Give much higher priority to writing content, and then check your email.
It’s your turn
During the first week, start writing in the morning, and turn this into a journal.
Focus on what is really important. Without a doubt, you can continue to use social networks as a way to promote your content, but always keep in mind that your business is the most important.
PS: Have you tried this technique before? Please share your experience in the comments.
